TVF: You don't need life-changing results

THE VISIBLE FOUNDER

One of the reasons why I like having a community is to meet up in person.
And recently we met up to co-work.

(If you want to check out the community, you can do it here, btw.)

And that made me notice, that with the community and my clients, there's something that I keep thinking enjoying more and more.

The small moments, not the big final result.

The moments where you can see something starting to shift, a person finally making a decision, or a question they stop asking because they’ve grasped a concept.

All of these look like small things, but when you work with people, you learn to recognize them.

Recently, while discussing testimonials with a client, we ended up talking about exactly this.

He thought he needed more “success stories.”
But the more we talked about his clients, the more stories emerged.

They weren’t stories like: My life was in ruins, and now everything is perfect.

These are stories of movement and that made me think of something that happens to me outside of work, too.

I go to the gym daily and I don't really notice any difference, but one day I realized that I can actually do a a few pull ups.

I didn't change overnight. I didn't have a massive transformation.

But there were signs and something I have been doing is working.

Because I am getting stronger, and I think something similar happens with our clients.

We wait for the day we can do those 10 pull ups.

And we forget to notice that we finally did one or that now push ups get easier too.

That’s why I think there’s a much better question than: What was the final result?

It should be: What is different now compared to when we started?

That question opens up so much possibility because it forces you to look at the process and the process is full of evidence.

This also changes how you approach marketing. Because you don’t need to wait until you have a catalog of massive transformations.

You can show the journey.

You can say: When they started, this is what was happening or during the process, this occurred... and now, they’re starting to do this.

That allows the person reading to see themselves within the story.

Maybe they aren’t ready to reach the summit just yet. Maybe they just want to take the first step and when they see someone else has already taken it, an interesting thought comes up: “I could do that too.”

That is what I want my clients to learn to communicate, not just results, but movement.

Because authority doesn't always come from being able to say: "look at everything I’ve achieved.”

Sometimes, it lies in spotting a small signal and knowing exactly why it matters and that is experience.

And if you want to learn how to find those stories within your own business, I have a MASTERCLASS available.

And if you’d like to sit down together to uncover all that evidence within your experience (and your clients’) I also offer 1:1 mentoring.

It's not what you say, but it's how you say it.
